Energy Supply for Africa's Industrialization

New approaches from the 11th German-African Energy Forum

Eleven Ministers and their delegations as well as more than 400 participants from the private and public sectors in Africa and Europe participated in the 11th German-African Energy Forum held by the German-African Business Association to establish new business relationships and discuss new approaches in the energy sector in Africa. The theme of this year’s German-African Energy Forum was the topic of energy for industrialization – especially for the mining, automotive and manufacturing sectors.  During the parallel panel discussions and country sessions, lively debates took place, inter alia about on-grid and off-grid solutions, different energy resources and local value creation. Moreover, the most recognized European platform for cooperation with African countries in the energy sector left room for the presentation of innovative approaches developed by start-ups as well as niche projects. Following the Forum the German-African Business Association invited the participants to join a guided tour to the Hannover Messe, the world’s largest industrial fair.
