Berlin celebrates Africa
Afrika-Verein welcomes high-ranking guests at „Africa Day“ and the German-African business dinner „Rhapsody“

How does digitalization influence the the development of the private sector and of investments in Africa? Approximately 400 high-ranking African and European representatives of the private and public sector discussed this question during „Africa Day“ jointly organized by Afrika-Verein der Deutschen Wirtschaft and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on July 6th in Berlin. The guests of honor that were welcomed at the event were H.E. Prof Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea and current chair of the African Union, as well as Dr. Gerd Müller, Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany.

 

German-African Business Dinner – African Rhapsody


The African Rhapsody was first established by Afrika-Verein and the group of accredited African Ambassadors in Germany in 2013 on the occassion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Organisation of African Unity, which became the African Union in 2002. Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy, Brigitte Zypries, participated at this year’s African Rhapsody highlighting the importance of developments on the African continent for German policymakers. Guest of honor Alpha Condé was awarded the Afrika-Verein Excellence in Leadership Award in front of 140 guests.
