Afrika-Verein (the German-African Business Association) has the pleasure to announce the visit of Hon. Yonis Ali Guedi, Minister of Energy & Natural Resource of the Republic of Djibouti. On January 25^th, Afrika-Verein and its members will have the opportunity to get first-hand information on all recent developments in Djibouti’s energy sector and explore future partnerships. The exchange will be held in person at the Afrika-Verein office (Friedrichstraße 206, 10969 Berlin).

Djibouti, with the only modern deep-water port in the region, is the logistics hub and political stabilizer of the horn of Africa. The country aims to be the first on the African continent to set up a self-sufficient energy supply using only renewable energies. The growing demand for electricity in the country requires more investment which has led the government to create adequate legal and institutional framework for the sector.
