As Nigeria is one of Germany’s most important trading partners in Africa we want to provide you with an update on macroeconomics, a current risk assessment and an outlook on the upcoming presidential elections.

While the West African giant is facing serious challenges that intensified through the covid-19 crisis and the tense energy market the country is on its way to economic recovery. Various international institutions expect a three to four percent growth rate for 2022 as well as 2023 through foreign direct investment, the increase of local productivity and a stable middle class.
